4.10
Front and rear gears plus installation by a shop approx $1500. Add about another $300-$500 for a locker for the rear.

I'd go for 4.56 gears, since he's planning on thrashing the truck...

To determine ratio:

http://4lo.com/calc/gearratio.htm

You will need a tach and a GPS. Drive it so it's in overdrive with the torque converter locked up, it's probably best to do this on a level road at around 65 mph. Note the RPM's and the speed from the GPS. Use the calculator and enter:

Tire diameter (you say you have 33's?)
RPM
Transmission ratio: 0.7
Transfer case ratio: 1
MPH

Hit Calculate and it will show you approximate ratio.

To determine if you have limited slip, put it in Park, leave the E-brake off, and jack both rear wheels up. Try to turn one. If it turns easily and the other wheel turns the opposite way, it's an open diff. To make sure, put it in neutral and turn one wheel. If it's limited slip, the other wheel will turn the same direction and the driveshaft will also turn.

If you have 33's and a 3.55 with a 4.6, you are behind the power curve at low speeds. No amount of tuning is going to improve your gas mileage or low end grunt much.

so thrashing the truck in the mud is your intended purpose, that's why you'll need the 4.56 gears (or 4.88 depending on your tire choice)

only add a locker to the rear otherwise steering will be an issue while locked in 4X4

I didn't say anything about you trashing the truck, and I'm sick of your attitude good luck on your decisions in life

I think it's your poor grammar and spelling that's confusing people. You may want to take a bit more time to try to write posts that are easier to read and follow. I'm not trying to be the grammar and spelling police, but when you are sloppy like that, it does affect the way others see you.

I'm with GLC on it..... its your grammar, no worries man , its one of the downside of internet communication, loss of tone when typing. Whenever I think someone online is showing an attitude I just re-read what they said to make sure they couldn't possibly have meant anything else. I don't see where you said anything wrong either.

To quote Cool Hand Luke.... "What we have here.... IS A FAILURE..... TO COMMUNICATE".
