Thanx for the explaination Mike.
I wasn't trying to say anything bad about your product.

What does that mean?

How is a Edge with a custom tune jammed in it any different than a Predator or Trinity with a custom tune?

The edge is shipped to you with a tune in it, by a guy hundreds of miles away, that has never seen your truck? How about this...take your truck and your Predator to any of our hundreds of custom tuning dealers, strap it to the dyno, and get a REAL custom tune.

Also, you say it is 'based on your HEX code', and not custom per se....I think you may be very confused as to how this all works.

If you are getting a custom tuned Gryphon, and the tuner is not even going to see your truck, they are basing the tune on whatever your HEX code, or calid, may be in your truck, period. There is no other way.

With a Predator or Trinity, the tool will first read your stock tune from the vehicle, which can then be exported to a PC and opened in our TRUE, custom tuning software for editing.
This file is then edited, saved, and reloaded to the Predator or Trinity, and then flashed to the vehicle. That my friends, is as CUSTOM as CUSTOM tuning gets.
This same process can be done via email with datalogs as well, which will still result in a very custom tune, built to the needs of YOUR truck and YOUR driving style.

Maybe the confusion lies in the fact that the Predator also comes with preloaded tunes for different CAIs and octane levels, or the fact that you can adjust timing, fueling, MAF curves, rev and speed limits, shift points and more right from the tool, but it is STILL a true custom tuning tool, that has been used to tune some of the most powerful and fastest cars in the world!

I've also said it before, but I will say it again, I feel our 'canned' tunes can hold a candle to many of the so called custom tunes that float around, give it a shot!!

Understood, it can be a confusing topic with so many different terms used by different manufacturers.

DiabloMike... Im actually thinking about possibly making the switch. Johnny Lightning tuned my 89 Mustang after I put nitrous on it and I asked about my truck. The way he was talking it sounded like he was pretty confident he could get alot more power, performance, and MPG's out of my truck but him dyno tuning it compared to my Gyphon. But my thing is actually how much more we talking ya know. I know with a Diesel it might be worth making the switch but with a gas powered f150 and me having to take the loss on my tuner now and then more more money into a Predator how much can ya really squeaze.... his f150 is a BAD **** though lol

i got it in. hate to say but im not really impressed. i tuned it to performance and it did fine. then i went to 87 octane tune and truck wouldnt start. pcm iss blank. so i went back to stock and the truck starts fine. so i switch it back to performance and it starts fine. im scared to do much reprogramming with it because i dont want to destroy my pcm.

I'm curious as to why you would buy one and then ask if it can be custom tuned?

Do you even know their website? Customer support hours? Do they have an 800 number? Did you download a manual? Can the unit be updated via the web?
