diablo predator or edge evolution??
You could do what I did and get an Edge. I got it when it was on sale and free shipping, which hardly ever happens. I eventually upgraded it to a Gryphon to get the custom tunes. With the Edge/Gryphon you have real-time gauges that allow you to view stuff like trans temp, mileage, etc.

i have a 2004 f150 with a 5.4. i have done the gotts mod and true dual exhaust. other than that its completly stock. oh and i have 35" nitto mud grapplers. i like the display function alot.
Then order a Gryphon. It will be shipped to you with canned tunes (still a lot better than stock).
PHP will then write custom tunes which you can download using Pegasus.
Another option is the SCT Livewire (based on your real-time display requirement). PHP can write custom tunes, but so can VMP, 5Star, and Troyer (TP is not a good option if you aren't willing to wait for your custom tunes).

The Diablo would be quicker if you'd like to go that route but they are not custom tunes per say based off your hex code.
I'm one of them. I am still waiting for my custom tune which was sent in the beginning of April. I know its worth it so I am being patient. I also waited a month for my Edge to Gryphon upgrade.
order the Gryphon with custom tunes and you'll get the gryphon with canned tunes(which are better than edge anyway) and wait for your customs easy as that. Your gotts and true duals arent doing anything for you how it sits right now besides sound unless you go custom.
What does that mean?
How is a Edge with a custom tune jammed in it any different than a Predator or Trinity with a custom tune?
The edge is shipped to you with a tune in it, by a guy hundreds of miles away, that has never seen your truck? How about this...take your truck and your Predator to any of our hundreds of custom tuning dealers, strap it to the dyno, and get a REAL custom tune.
Also, you say it is 'based on your HEX code', and not custom per se....I think you may be very confused as to how this all works.
If you are getting a custom tuned Gryphon, and the tuner is not even going to see your truck, they are basing the tune on whatever your HEX code, or calid, may be in your truck, period. There is no other way.
With a Predator or Trinity, the tool will first read your stock tune from the vehicle, which can then be exported to a PC and opened in our TRUE, custom tuning software for editing.
This file is then edited, saved, and reloaded to the Predator or Trinity, and then flashed to the vehicle. That my friends, is as CUSTOM as CUSTOM tuning gets.
This same process can be done via email with datalogs as well, which will still result in a very custom tune, built to the needs of YOUR truck and YOUR driving style.
Maybe the confusion lies in the fact that the Predator also comes with preloaded tunes for different CAIs and octane levels, or the fact that you can adjust timing, fueling, MAF curves, rev and speed limits, shift points and more right from the tool, but it is STILL a true custom tuning tool, that has been used to tune some of the most powerful and fastest cars in the world!

I've also said it before, but I will say it again, I feel our 'canned' tunes can hold a candle to many of the so called custom tunes that float around, give it a shot!!

I'm curious as to why you would buy one and then ask if it can be custom tuned?
Do you even know their website? Customer support hours? Do they have an 800 number? Did you download a manual? Can the unit be updated via the web?
Sorry about that. IMHO you made a mistake. You 'cheaped' out on an A/M accessory that is going to re-program your truck's CPU.

Was this one of those alcohol induced purchases? J/K.
