Has the original gryphon never been available for 03 and older f150?

I just ask because its not even an option on PHPs site.

And What is the real difference of 'upgrading' to the cs? Is it just a color screen is all?

 

They stopped selling the original Gryphon for the 97-03 last month.

 

For the older trucks, the CS is mainly a cosmetic upgrade.

PHP will upgrade an older Evolution if you can find one for sale.

 

Sir shotgunz is usually a pretty savvy guy, but he may have overlooked something here.

The reason PHP stopped selling the "old" style Gryphon for the pre-04 trucks is due to reliability issues with the OBDII cable it uses. There are electronics in it that seem to get easily "fried" by voltage surges in the truck.

The new CS and CTS don't seem to have that fault, so, you might look on the CS as a "reliability" upgrade too.
