2 questions about an edge?

i have a 97-03 edge, and just bought a 01 mustang GT, (yes i know an edge won't tune it) can i use the edge to pull the pcm code off the mustang? i really want some tunes for it. thanks.

yes, you should be able to pull the ecm strategy code out of it

i figured it might be possible, and forgot the second question. can i clear a CEL on the mustang with the edge?

I have my doubts that it will read the strategy. That strategy has to be in the device for it to recognize it, was my understanding, and it will only have strategies for trucks. At least that is how I understood it worked.

UPDATE

got around to doing this and it not only pulled the HEX code but also (as i suspected) the gauges work also.

so..this means i can hook my gryphon up to my e250 work van with the 5.4 2v and check codes? my truck is a 5.4 3v. have been curious if that would work but never got around to asking....kinda scared to lose any custom tunes if that would even happen........

as long as you don't program it you can't loose the tunes. checking the codes should work on any ford vehicle with OBD II it's a generic function.

I would just suggest to put the original vehicle back to stock before checking another vehicle......I hate seeing Help! threads......
