ok its a 2004 f150 with around 70 thousand miles.
its running sluggish, if you smash the throttle to the floor the truck just barely climbs up to speed. fuel milage and power is down the tube....? what could be done, bring it to a dealer to flash the computer or get a programmer?

Maybe it just needs to be "tuned up"? I would not throw a programmer at a truck that seems to be running "poorly". A programmer will improve on a "stock" tune, but it won't fix a truck with defects, and, it could make things worse.

You might have plugged converters.

 

Have you changed all your filters? A good overall tune up could be what you need.

 

That is what I am thinking too.

 

I'm thinking the poor truck has been neglected and needs some TLC

 

maybe you have cops that have gone out, or a blown fuel injector or 3, that has happened to me..and the check engine light never came on, when I actually lost a whole bank of injectors....have the Injectors and the COPs checked...just in case.
