custom tune problem?
2006 F-150 4X2

93 perf gryphon.
so I noticed that after I got my custom tunes the truck started acting weird.
when slowing from highway speeds to stop at a light the truck wants to keep pulling.
But letting off the pedal and getting back on it stops this.
The truck also seems like it get confused when its shifting.
Like when I am pulling out and getting up to speed, then back out of the throttle the truck goes to shift, then it takes it a bit to finally shift.
Its like it get hung in between 1st and 2nd and is confused, the 87 tow never done that ever.
firmness is.

Today at the light from the parking spot, I stopped at a light and it was like I had a big cam in the tuck, it was loping but normal idle RPM's 680-700.
also felt like it was trying to pull.
but after I left that light and got to the next it stopped.
it feels like the 93 perf lacks something that the 87 tow had/has even though the 93 is faster to 60.

Hello!
Bear with me - I don;t gots a clue about this tuning stuff....
1. Flash back to stock to confirm it is a tuning & not a truck, issue.
2. Reflash the 93 perf custom tune. Do NOT make any other additional changes such as shift firmness, etc.
3. If symptoms persist after a short amount of time for Adaptive to settle in, Call PHP; only they can help you.
Chit happens - it's just bits, lol.
Good Luck sir!

but the truck is such a dog w/o any tunes and I have a CAI.
I may just re flash the 93 and see how it acts first.
There is possibly a problem with that tune. I'd ask Bill about it though, since he's the one who wrote it.
Why do you have your shift firmness settings increased? Weren't the custom settings firm enough for you? Bill has adjusted the shifting in your custom tune, you know.
Is the Torque Converter remaining locked when you slow down? This is something you can check you know.
Is the 1-2 WOT shift point at least 400 rpm below the max rpm?
The only time I felt my truck "lope at idle" was when I tried advancing the spark. Have you done this? If so, I'd set the advance back to zero - the custom tune has already got the spark adjusted properly.

OK.
CAI was not listed - sorry. For the test period it should not matter - don't go WOT.
It will be only for a short time - you NEED to eliminate the stock vehicle condition as a problem - Troubleshooting 101
Your call - it don't take long to flash. What I would do, but I know SFA about this complicated 'puter schtuff anyways....

I agree.
what else, besides the CAI are you not disclosing? ANY other changes?

I am going to re flash the tune and hope that works.
I have no clue if it is remaining locked, thats what if "feels" like though to me.
I never touched the WOT settings, but I am never WOT. maybe 75% if that mostly half.
Never advanced the spark at all.

SI/DO muffler change.
I will reset to the 93 perf and see what happens w/o any change at all.
But I noticed that on the 87 tow tune with the same settings the truck shifts and feels exactly the same as it does now.
but Ill try that and see.
then if it persists ill try it a day with factory settings and go from there.
i did have the Tq managment disables though if that matters, in the custom tunes.
If I did increase the firmness that much over stock would I have noticed it? and if so have i done any damage?
well, I really want to stick my fingers in my ears and go "lalalalal" but i need to figure this out.
