the new sct tsx tunner

Last night I looked up the new tsx tuner it looks nice and its completely wireless the only downfall is that you have to charge it but thankfully it comes with a car charger.

I was just wondering if anybody has any feedback on the new sct tsx tuner

Programming your PCM with Bluetooth?

Call me a wimp (and I love technology - I have Sync in my truck), but that scares the hell out of me...

A lot of the programmer/programming issues we see on this forum boil down to ODBII connection issues. Wireless will not improve that and will likely cause more.

If they had a wired programing mode and a wireless 'display' mode, that might be interesting, but I'd hate to have to keep charging the battery.

Wonder how many cycles the batery is good for? Wonder if they are user replaceable or are they like the iPods and have to be sent to the factory for replacement?

AND - I have enough trouble remembering to charge my cell phone! I would not like to have to remember to charge a programmer.

Hello & welcome sir!

Wellsir - I must also be getting into the Hallowed Old Fart category, as I do not see the point of a wireles tuner.

Seems like just another potential failure mode and needless added complexity (and cost) to me.

And I suspect it's the Marketing Boys running this show - in this space product differentiation is getting to be very, very agressive. BLING is in. Today's kids demand it - well that and Instant Gratification

Fer decrepit old me, it's more about the quality of the tuning itself, exemplary support, a plethora of excellent tuning dealers and having a simple, robust, reliable handheld to load them with - and perhaps log lots & lots of stuff , with good GUI-Based apps & tools.(throw in some extra inputs too).

I'll pass, thanks.

They have lithium ion batteries in them so ithink its just like the ipod and then the window mount is really nice you can put it anywhere and not have all them power cable in the way will be a bonus I really do like the device but the battery issue scares me a bit

If you really want to uprade, there are a couple of less expensive options. First one is to send your Edge to PHP for upgrade to Gryphon, then order custom tunes. second otion is to contact Edge and see if they will give a deal on upgrading your Evo to s Cs or CTS. Not sure if they are offering upgrades, I upgraded my 1st gen Evo to current Evo for 150.00. Just my two cents worth.
