Unfortunately you probably need custom tunes to account for your intake. This basically limits you to Gryphon and SCT from PHP, VMP, and Troyer.

Of course, there could also be another problem with your truck and the intake is magnifying the problem.

What codes?

Read the stickies at the top of the forum for details on custom and canned tunes.

Hello & welcome!

You have received some good advice above.

Stay stock until you can afford a quality tuner - custom is the way to go for the insignificant delta in cost. You DO NOT want to scrimp on the price here -this is too important to go "cheep" on, lol.

Also - Do not run an aftermarket CAI - stay stock, and perhaps apply the Gotts/DMV/Whatever mod. Use the very good, well-flowing, factory filter element - yer MAF will thank you, as you have already noticed.

Good luck & have a great day!

Cheers

Cant say that I agree with everything suggested in this thread....

First off, a well developed canned tune for a CAI si a viable option, you dont 'need' cuatom tunes.

Based on this statement:

i need a cheep tuner/programer and was just looking for advise.

I would highly recommend the Predator for you.

They are pretty cheap these days, and come preloaded with several extensively developed tunes based on specific CAIs for the F150. A good CAI is a great option when paired with a properly developed MAF curve as part of a good performance tune.

Thanks
Mike
