Should I get a custom tune/Gryphon? Gotts intake mod, Magnaflow muffler, Edge Evo
Hello sir!
May I ask why you started another new thread on a similar topic?

No need, sir.
Custom is preferred - all you need to do is read the hundreds of posts from many very satisfied customers - TruckGuy24 being the most recent and most vocal
There are many. many tweaks as well for the canned tuning - but these are largely of a personal nature and may not be suitable for you ...
As for octane - if you go higher than 91 you could nudge the timing up some (see manual for details).
Niether the Gotts mod nor the exhaust require any tuning corrections.
Be careful towing on the perf tune - 2500# max only, all-in.
Good luck!

You'll be fine using the edge with what mods you have.
Custom tunes are preferred because they are written for you and your truck. They are based from your truck's pcm hex calibration.
Peace!

It's discussed in the manual:
Timing Adjustment
This timing option helps determine the final ignition timing based on
intended fuel octane rating. Modifying your timing may help improve fuel
economy as well as overall performance. However, choosing timing advance
that is too high might cause detonation (pinging), which may cause serious
harm to your engine. Lowering this value will not harm the engine but may
reduce performance and economy.
(Hint a good general rule is to increase timing .5 counts for every octane count you go up, i.e. if you are running 93 octane fuel in level three you could safely increase the timing 1.5 counts).
WOT Fuel
The WOT Fuel option adjusts the amount of additional fuel during Wide
Open (full) Throttle. A value of 1.5 increases the fuel by 50%. A value of 1.8
increases the fuel by 80%. Using a higher value may improve performance
during hard acceleration. This value only affects WOT fueling and has no
effect on normal driving conditions.
(Hint: Raising this value may help improve 0-60 and quarter mile times.)"
May I assume you've RTFM?

Thanks for the response. I have read the manual, but I wasn't sure which octane level I should subtract from 93 (the octane I run) to get the value to multiply by .5. I also wasn't sure if the canned tunes and settings already increased the timing. I'm just trying to be very cautious so that I don’t break my truck and if I ask a dumb question instead of breaking it, so be it.
Thanks,
Rob
