SCT SF3 Power Flash?

I just recently got the SF3 Power Flash for my '98 F-150 4.6L and I was wondering what some recommendations on settings are? I noticed it doesn't have preloaded settings for my model truck.

Alright I've been researching a little more and I've seen a lot about custom tunes. As far as what custom tunes are I believe I understand. So my question is how do I go about getting these custom tunes?

I did read that and it didn't tell me where I could get custom tunes and how much they would be. Thanks for your help though.

VMP, PHP, Troyer all offer custom tunes for SCT products

Alright I just put the prgrammer on my truck and it screwed something up. The fuel pump relay is clicking and the truck won't start. It will crank over but it's like its not getting fuel. Did I just screw my fuel pump up.

Good afternoon Captain!

I hope today finds you well. I am here to try and help you. Please note that I may be unable to do so; please allow me to apologize in advance for that potential shortcoming ...

First - after reviewing the vehicle applications for this particular handheld, I did not find your specific vehicle in the list:

List here: ==> http://www.sctflash.com/PDF/SF3.pdf

*** EDIT *** Ahhh... I now see on page 3 of the manual that yer MY truck is listed - strange - this does not jive with the info in the above link, lol ...

Second, ignoring the above for a moment, in case the obligatory first update ( as indicated at the beginning of the instructions) did install strategies for your truck, and in the unlikely event you have not already done so, I believe you must remove the fuel pump relay before flashing. Please refer to this excerpt from the manual, page # 7:

( Manual ==> http://www.sctflash.com/PDF/3000-3015%20small.pdf )

Important Points to Remember
"• Remove the fuel pump fuse and fan fuse before flashing. Be sure heater fans, windshield wipers or any other current draw is minimized during flashing. "

If the above support issue is the case, you will indeed need to contact one of the tuners that Shotgunz kindly listed for you, for custom tunes. Additionally, the software utilites on SCT's site will be required to prep the handheld and install the emailed tunes.

To recover your truck, refer to the provided steps in the manual for a failed flash. The other recourse is to contact SCT Customer Support - you paid for that privilege.

I doubt you damaged yer pump, but flashing your MY truck can cause issues if some required procedures are overlooked - the worst being hydrolocking you motor. On your truck, the reason the fuse needs to be pulled to prevent the pump frrm running is that parts of the flashing process MAY trigger injectors; it's safety precaution, but can occur on occasion - hopefully not the case here, but be careful.

Good luck - I hope this helps alleviate some of the stress you are evidently under. Others far more enlightened than myself may offer additional insight here...

Cheers & regards...
