Advice: Which Programmer for my 07F150

Hello everyone, Im saving up to end up getting what looks to be the Edge Evolution programmer thats around $349-$399, My truck is an 07 F150 regcab shortbed 2wd 4.6L, and performance wise all I have done is exhaust no intake, I plan on just keeping the stock intake after reading up on aftermarket ones and also running the edge stock out of box having issues with aftermarket intakes. Is this programmer the best out there in this price range, everywhere I read it seems to be a good one to get. And all Im wanting to spend is pretty much $350. Any adivce would be great thanks-- Tyler

It is good for that price, but for just a little more, you can get a Gryphon which can be custom tuned, and the custom tunes are much better. I've had both.

If you want the gauge capability, then I think the Edge gives you the most bang for your buck. If gauges are not important, then you might want to have a look at the SCT SF3.

However, it DOES look like there may be significant price reductions in the offing in the near future on Edge Evolutions, now that they've come out with the new CS model. You may want to revisit the cost comparison criteria then.

I'd highly recommend checking out the SCT Xcal3 from a reputable tuner like VMP Tuning, etc. I had the Edge before my SCT Xcal3 and can say whole heatedly I wouldn't waste your time with the Edge. It did make it faster but the driveability suffered and the transmission did not shift properly. Shifts would hang up some times and after numerous calls to Edge they could not help me. I ended up taking the advice from some here and got the SCT Xcal3 from VMP Tuning and couldn't be happier! The Xcal3 from VMP Tuning with three custom tunes is $399 so it's not far out of your price range but it'll be so much better in my opinion.

Diablosport trinity is what I would look into. Awesome color display and has pre-loaded stock intake tunes AND CAI tunes.
