do i have to pull the kick panel off the find the code? or will it be visible just by looking under?

its not behind the kick panel. Stick your head up undernieth on the passenger side it stands vertically right against the fender it is up there quite aways.

turns out my pcm code is UAC2
:/

what would happen if i used his chip on my pcm??

It most likely would not start if the codes did not match.
