Edge CTS or wait for Gryphon CTS

I can get an Edge CTS for a real good deal. Should I wait for the Gryphon Custom Tune one or would it be alright to just get the Edge one? Thanks

Personally, I'd wait (I am).

I think it depends on the "good deal". Looks like that unit is going to be about $650 (more or less) from Edge. I think the cost will be about the same from PHP, but I'm guessing. I won't ask what your "deal" is (although we're all dying to know), but you can figure out from this, I think, if it's something you should do.

Wow! AutoAnything has them for $515 right now. Personally, I'd wait. I'm upset these (the CS/CTS ) came out less then a month after I got my Gryphon. PHP says they are looking into some sort of up-grade offer. We'll see. If not, I'm going to try and sell mine and get the new CS.

I can get the CTS the pod which is 45 bucks and the pod adapter which is 11. All for 575. So I am trying to decide if I should wait or if it would be better to get the cheaper one and get it now. I just don't know how much better it would have to be to justify spending another 150 or so and have to wait that long. Brent

Make VERY sure you're talking about what you think your talking about!

The Edge CS looks to be about the same size and shape as the Evolution and I suspect it could be fitted into an Evolution pod. My understanding was that they were going to sell these for a price near $500.

The Edge CTS is MUCH bigger (it has a touch screen and will show the view from a backup camera that Edge also sells (but it works with others too). I can't see how it would fit in an Evolution pod at all. It's the one I believe sells in the mid $600s.

Edit: I just checked the Edge site and, they DO say they sell an "adaptor" kit for the CTS so that it can be mounted on/in and Evolution pod. I can't help but wonder how that's going to look?

Yeah the guys going to email me some pictures tonight of the pod and everything. So what do you think about the deal? PHP said they thought the prices on just the CS were going to be around 650 so i'm sure the CTS would be at least a little more than that. And it doesn't even come with a pod to mount it. So say a 675 for the CTS plus 45 for the pod and another 11 for the adapter that comes to 731 for a custom tuned one where I can get this for 575. Tell me what you think. Brent

Just my ... as far as the mounting goes, I thought the suction mount was going to look atrocious. We have one in our 7.3L right now, and I just commented to Billy a couple of hours ago that it looked great!

I will explain it like this... purchasing the Evolution CTS vs. the Gryphon CTS is really no different than someone asking: Should I buy a Gryphon, or would I be okay with the Evo? It's all about what you need. If you need custom calibrations, then I would say to get a Gryphon CTS. If you don't, then keep the extra money in your pocket and go for the Evo CTS.

We still don't know our final cost on the units, as we are the sole company that purchases COMPONENTS instead of off-the-shelf programmers. That information should be available to us at any time. (Bill was supposed to have a phone conference with Edge yesterday... got postponed... today... got postponed... )

Right now, Edge dealers are offering the additional $75 holiday discount from Edge. If you can get the whole package for $575 or whatever it is, I think that's great deal.

Well I have exhaust and that is pretty much the only performance mod i've done to it. Does anyone know what the levels are on the CTS?

Groovy Chick. Has Bill said anything about whether or not he knows how much more power I would get off the CTS if I waited on a custom tuned one?
