Edge WOT adjustment... ?

I'm new to the edge and havent put it in the truck yet, i just got it today.

Some info on using this unit sucessfully would be great. I've read the manual from cover to back and aren't quite sure if i wanna mess with the WOT fuel setting?

what are things i should and shouldn't do?

First try it.
Then if you don't like the settings then change them.

Yes I do!
What tune are going to use?
My advice is this:
Load the tune you want to use and use it for 50-75 miles. This allows the programmer to build files so when you do want to change the settings it won't burp and puke out some codes on you.
Then reload the settings you want.

Trust me big - 88 knows what he's talking about. Do what he suggested.

88 - I do like the puking code vision.

<----Close but not quite.

Will do shotgunz, I'll take your word for it, we've run into each other before.

I'm going to load on the 3rd setting for higher octane.

i'll be running 94 sunoco, so I should be good to go.

the truck has had an oil change every 5000km with casrtrol syntec 5w-20, so my motor is mint, even with 130,000km.

I've also detuned my truck long ago from the hypertech programming.

thought i'd play it safe and put a few hundred km's on it with stock settings. now i'll really feel the edge.

So I'll tune it and leave it for a while before i start ****in' around with it.

thanks for the tips guys, big help as always

I'll just reinforce what 88racing and shotgunz said. The first time you program your PCM, you DO want to skip the "custom tune option". As 88 said, this allows the programmer to build its stock files properly.

Then drive it like that for a bit to get the feel for what you like and don't like. If you want to try customizing things after that, read this first: Q&A About Custom Options It was written for the Gryphon, but it applies to the Edge. Read it several times, because the custom options menu is one of the most misunderstood features of the Edge/Gryphon.

And, you probably won't need to change the WOT fuel setting at all.

I have not touched my Evo custom stuff yet at all, so far I have still been very happy with just the added power it gives me from the start. I have had the Evo for about 6 months and am just now thinking about going to Stage 3 to see how it runs for awhile. Biggoldie - these guys are great and read the sticky page about the evo programming on the front page of the forum - tons of good info. Good luck and enjoy! Next step Gryphon custom, BTW - how much does it cost for an upgrade, generally speaking?

Please ... allow me .....

OP - running 94, you'll eventually be able to bump up timing a bit (the premium tune presumes 91-93 octane I believe - can't remember, lol)..

Oh - and please don't embarass a fellow Canuckian - there are approx 3x10*6 posts on how to configure an Edge on this forum, plus the stickies ... so a little less complaining to folks trying to help you, and perhaps a bit more engagement w.r.t the Search feature on your part, okay?

Thanks &

So she's in.

I love it.

I'm running setting 3 with 94 octane. and thats it. adjusted my tire size after 100km or so, and i think i'll leave it.

Can't get the unit to change color though.

I adjusted the WOT fuel in my 93 perf tune. It felt soft off idle at WOT and the 0-60 time was slower than with the 87 perf. I talked with Bill (from PHP) about it and he said I could bump it up some so I did. I think I had it set at 1.65 but don't remember for sure. Just drive around for a while then make a change. If you like it great, if not it takes seconds to change back.
