Evo trans settings

I've got an edge evo on my 99' F150 and it shifts fine but when it goes to lock up the T/C when in 4th gear it lockes it up and then unlocks it and it stays unlocked untill I reach a higher mph.

Is there anyway I can adjust this without having it converted to a gryphoon? Is it just the evo controling the trany based on vechile speed or is it something else?

You're saying the TC locks only briefly and then unlocks right away upon reaching 4th gear and you have not increased the accelerator pedal pressure? If this is the case, do you have a TC lockup adjustment in your model Edge (using the custom options menu)? If you do, I'd try reducing the TC lockup point for 4th gear.

If you don't have this adjustment, I'd call Edge Tech support to see if they have any ideas.

It will shift into 4th gear normaly and then usualy lock up the TC shortly there after and then within a couple of seconds unlock the TC. It will stay unlocked untill the truck is above 50 mph or I go down a hill and have no load on it at all. There are also times where it shifts into 4th and locks up the TC almost at the same time.
The edge I've got doesn't have any adjustment for the TC lockup that I've been able to find and there is nothing in the manual.
And yes thats without changing any pedal pressure.

OK, I'd definitely call Edge. I don't think your TC should be acting like that.

If they can't help you, PHP may be able to, but it WOULD involve upgrading to a Gryphon.

I think I will cause I just had the trans rebuilt about 1500 miles ago. When it does lock and unlock it feels firm but, I don't want to ruin the trany.

I sent edge an email this morning stating what the trany was doing, and I got a VERY vauge answer back stating that "the T/C locks and unlocks when the truck tells it to depending on vehicle speed, engine load, gear, and that it can be unpredictable"!

WTF......The reason I sent them the email was cause it didn't do it before I installed the edge and they send me some crap answer like that............

Call them. Don't send an email about this. I think you'll get a much better response if you talk to someone there - but KEEP IT CIVIL!

Don't attack them, and try to ignore the email you got. It's actually quite correct, in its own way, it just doesn't address your concern. Other people's experiences with Edge Tech support have been quite positive, so go into it with an optimistic attitude.

I know I got a little carried away there........I guess I just have a short fuse when it comes to things like that.
