long story short my neighbor gave me his edge from when he had his 05 f150...one problem though, he lost his OBD port cable so I cant plug it in my truck. yet another problem the edge says its for 2004-2006 f150s mine is a 2007...is there any way it will work????? the edge has a date of manufacture of 6/6/07 so since it was made in 07 dont you think it MIGHT work. it has lightning software, if i go on edge website and download fusion will that work or no?????

As long as it's set to stock there is no reason it will not work.

he may have gotten it in 04,05,or 06. maybe thats why it says 04-06. it should work since the trucks are the same

 

okay ill give it a shot, im tryin to update it but it wont come on when I connect it to my computer??? any input on that??

 

07 came out with a different caliration table so what you are doing by updating it is the correct thing to do.
I don't know what's wrong with your update process with your computer other than these:
Are you trying to update through the website or cd?
If you are trying to up date through the cd you have to make sure you are using the correct windows version. The cd is probably in xp format and your computer is running vista.
Goto www.edgeproducts.com and get the latest update for software on your computer. Make sure and download any usb drivers too.

The edge from 04-06 will only work with XP (i have a HP mini with xp). That is the only drawback. Call edge and tell them you upgraded your truck and need to get the 07-08 program and they will hook you up. All it consists of is pluging the mini usb in and letting the edge talk to the website. They will give you all the info you need. I talked to jordon a long time ago (apr) and I was about 10 minutes from start to finish with him. The cord is available through them or PHP.

 

Did he set it back to stock, level 0 before losing the cable and giving it to you?

 

These guys have all given you correct advice. DO call and talk to Edge. You're going to have to get the cable from them, so this is the best way to make sure you get the right one.

I think you update your unit's firmware and version info now with Fusion, not Lightning, but I may be wrong. Again, Edge will know which to use.

I finally got around to update my edge to Fusion software, it was all goin fine until it said "return Edge back to stock, then click continue" So obviously he didnt set his truck back to stock...anything I can do about that like send it to edge or something else(maybe PHP can help me)

Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure Bill can unlock it. So if you do the upgrade, yes. Again, don't quote me but I'm pretty sure.
