Edge question about intake

I'm buying an Evo from another member here and from what I've read it will not work with an aftermarket intake. I have done the Gotts style mod on my 2006, do I have to put the factory intake back on until I send it to PHP? I also have E-fans and plan on upgrading the exhaust soon. After that I should be done with performance mods.

No, with the 2006, you should be fine. You just won't be getting full advantage of the mod. Be sure and inform Bill what you have done to the intake when you order the custom tune.

And Wes, in case it wasn't clear, the Gotts style intake mod should not cause any adverse effects, whether you are tuned or not. This is one of the things I specifically verified with Bill before I did my own intake mod. And, since the air/fuel measuring system is still able to do it's thing accurately, it doesn't even require any adjustments to the tune.

But, as Bluejay said, make sure Bill knows exactly what you've done or are planning to do with your truck and what you want/expect from the tune.

thanks for the clarification on the subject, I can't wait to get the edge and then get the tunes.

btw Jack, do you have a leveling kit on your KR? did you go with the Rancho 5100's?

No, I don't have a leveling kit. The bed cap is pretty heavy though, I think it's over 200#, based on how I struggled to get one off by myself once upon a time. The cap does compress the rear a bit to make the whole thing look more level. The suspension is all "stock".

As I've said in another thread, I'd really rather have a tuneau cover, but we take so much stuff with us when we go camping that I need the "covered" room the cap provides.
