Arrow

so as the years go by there is still no good answer to my question... im deciding weather or not to order custom tunes for my newer Gryphon (87 performance)

i have 20inch tires on a 4.6l s/crew,the gotts mod wtih the silencer taken out,
and a 3" dynomax bullet with 3 inch piping (catback) the rest is all stock

Please anyone have some sort of advice? would that be insufficient mods to benefit from the custom tuning? Until in the future when i get gears at least

Sorry, I don't have your engine. *shrug* I'm really happy with custom tunes for my 5.4L engine though. (Weird no one answered your original post.)

Try to talk to Bill Cohron at PHP. He WILL NOT try to sell you a tune that won't be better for you. (Upon reflection, that sounds confusing as hell). :o Let me say it this way: If Bill recommends a custom tune, go with it!

You probably spin those tiny tires at every light. I have 32s and spin them occasionally by accident.

Just messing with you. I just wanted to give you a bump

I have had a custom 87 performance and a custom 91 performance tune on my 4.6 for over a year now. I have an aftermarket c.a.i. and Magnaflow si/do exhaust. It made a world of difference in my truck. I can't even drive it with the base tune anymore. I run the 87 tune unless gas gets real cheap.. which it hasn't in almost a year. I never put it on an actual dyno, but the "butt" dyno is very happy.. i would guess a solid 15-hp and maybe 15-lb/ft of torque difference.. very happy with PHP and Bill is a great guy to work with.

From what I've read there's a lot of happy 4.6 2v owners out there with Bill's custom tunes.....pull the trigger and enjoy

You need to do the upgrade to a gryphon which requires sending the edge unit in to PHP.....
