New to the world of tuners and chips

Actually I'm new to F150online. I have an '05 F250, 5.4L, 6 speed Man., CC, 4x4, LWB. I would like to get more HP and Torque but not sure where to start. I'm afraid it's going to be the ol' apples and oranges debate but does anyone have any preferences and how do they work, installment and programming issues, etc. I have been into trucks my whole life but stopped working on them myself when everything went to computers. Now I'm retired and would like to play around with it. Thanks

JackandJanet has some really good information on tuners. Search this section of the forums for some of his posts and I'm sure you will find what you are looking for.

Jack (feels like I'm talking to myself) - We've just posted an extensive Q&A at the top of this forum. Read through it. I imagine many of your questions will be answered.

I agree, custom tunes are better than canned, and only you can decide what tuner is best for you and your truck needs

Thanks Jack

Your advice did not go unnoticed and unappreciated. I just didn't know where to look at the time. I read your post and it helped out a bunch. I still don't know what direction I want to go but at least I understand it better now. Thanks again...Jack Hammer
