I am running it on a 4.6. I really havent ventured into changing anything yet. Mainly because I am scared to screw up something and I havent had a lot of time to really look into it. I just have been running mine on setting 1 to firm up the shifting. I would like to find a good step by step how to adjust everything on the towing setting but just havent got a chance. New baby will be here in two weeks, so its been busy busy.

level 3 is a big difference. i havent tried custom tunes yet (gryphon) but as far as canned tunes, superchips was much better than edge. i dont play with the settings much. i put the speed limiter and shift firmness all the way up and set my gear ratio and tire size. you may want to raise the WOT shift from 2-3 but you might also have to raise the rev limiter. just dont get too carried away with it.

i maxxed out the shift firmness on 1-2 and 2-3 i didnt worry bout 3-4 because once the truck gets to 3rd it doesnt pull very hard anymore. i think the rev limiter is set at 5600 but i cant remember what i set it to when i changed the shift point. i think stock the truck would shift into 3rd at 78-80 WOT but you can raise to maybe 85, im not 100% sure on that number though. level 3 with no adjustment is a huge improvement anyway so anything else you decide to fine tune isnt gonna make much difference.

alright so what do u have your rev limiter set at? also i have 3.73 gears if that makes a differance on all the parameters u have set
i will try messing with all of the shift, speed and rev limiter settings later tonight

another nice thing is the 40-45 mph dead spot in power is virtually gone

also what are your shift ponts at?

Please remember you've got a transmission on board that doesn't like to be wound up too high. Mike Troyer has said the torque converter starts to balloon at 5400 rpm. Your HP and torque curves are falling off above 5100 RPM. What's the point of winding your transmission up higher, other than to listen to its "dying scream"?

Assuming your transmission is the same as mine, and I think it is, if the shift completes around 5400, you're fine.

There is a delay between when the shift is commanded, and when it completes. At command, the clutches release in the transmission and the engine, now unloaded, rapidly spools the TC turbine up. The higher gear clutch plates lock back up when the shift completes and the RPM drops. You usually need about a 400 RPM difference between the command point and the completion point.

But, even though the HP and torque is dropping at 5100, you might get better performance by setting the WOT shift around 5200, because overall, you're in the higher part of the power curve most of the time. This would need a max RPM limit set to 5600, which is probably reasonably safe, as long as you don't do it all the time.

However, the 3-4 shift is harder on the transmission internals and has very little "feel", due to the fact that the gearing reduces torque. Don't set your 3-4 WOT shift too high. I'd keep it below 4700.

Also, don't go crazy on the "firmness" settings. You DO want some delay between release and lockup. Having no delay would put sudden sharp stress on components. Bluejay said he set the "firmness" levels at +12, +12 and +9, as I recall.

setting 2 was pretty good, throttle response was much better. but i would upgrade to a gryphon, i hated my edge after all my problems

i haven't been to impressed with hypertech or superchips tunes, really seem lacking.

What do you mean by "balloon"?

im sure that since you have 3.73 gears your truck will shift at different points than mine. even with my firmness all the way up the transmission doesnt feel like its shifting hard. however if i use the trans only tune the shifting feels better.
