is a gryphon worth it...
i have an 07 4.6l screw with just a maggie muffler and the gotts mod with a K&N drop in would the gryphon be worth it right now?
Autoanything has the edge for 269 with free shipping. i was thinking just doing that and down the road when i do e-fans and UD pullys and other more drastic mods i would just have it converted to the gryphon what do you think?

Not a bad plan at that price. The Edge will add 20-22 HP to your engine. You will like it. Some day, get it converted and custom tunes, and you will like it even more. If mine were to go out on me, I would be on the phone ordering another Gryphon.

Man I am in the same situation as you are right now with basically the same set up. Not that that matters but I too was looking at the edge through autoanything and the one that I see that is 269 is the "gauges only". Take another look and make sure that is the case. I thought the same thing but as I was reading the specs on it there was nothing mentioned about programming. The programmer apears to be $359.

I too wondered this questions when I began to read about them. I thought no way could a programmer really be worth all of the hype. Well after reading all of the great things about the PHP gryphon and finally bought into it. WOW, just wow was I really surprised at how well ti woke my truck up. I tried the tranny only tune for a few days and was impressed. Then level 2 for 10k miles and loved it. Finally I dipped into the level 3 and was blown away. Don't get me wrong, it will not make miracles but it will greatly increase throttle response, tranny shifting, and just overall truck pep. I would not hesistate to encourage you to buy one.
The first day I got my truck I was in love, but on the 2 hour drive home I slowly noticed how unresponsive the throttle was and how slow the drive-by-wire was in stock form. I began to live with it but as I said before continued to read all of the wonderful things about a programmer. I love the 4 difference gauges, added performance, and mpg it netted me. It has taught me to become a smarter driver as far as gas peddle goes too.

Its definitely worth it. I got 11 mpg without the tuner and cold air intake and when I am running it now on 93 Performance Im getting between 14.5-15mpg average. So in my mind I figure that means im getting roughly around 4 more mpg on a usual 21 gallon fill up so im getting around 85 miles more per tank and with gas at 2.60 a gallon that means im saving myself about $14-$15 at each fill up.
