$300 Edge Evo??

A guy had an Edge Evo on his F-150 and is now trying to sell his truck. He's putting it back to stock since he's got some old dude buying it. Anyhow, he bought and installed the Edge about 2 months ago and is now selling it for $300. Is this a good deal or should I stay away from used Edge Evo's?? I can find a new one on Ebay for $380 or so, but if there really is no way to screw up an Edge, maybe a used one is the way to go. I don't really know anything about these things, so this is why I'm asking you guys

Also, this programmer would be going on my 06 FX4 5.4L. It's pretty much bone stock with only bigger tires and a SI/DO MBRP exhaust system. Would I be smart to put this Edge Evo on my truck? Or should I just leave my truck as is?

Well, he says he's got everything, including the pod mount, the paperwork, and the CD. And he says it's only got the three canned tunes. There has been no programming on this Evo...

Not a bad deal.
Just remember warranty doesn't transfer. Like Bluejay stated above make sure its back to stock, level "0" if you do buy it.

Sounds good. Offer him $275 and see what happens. Later, you can send it off to PHP for conversion and custom tunes if you are so inclined.

I got mine off of here. Picked it up from Adam for $300 shipped. So prolly around $285 local would be fair. Mine was a brand new unit though that was just sent back to Adam from Edge.

Sounds good, but I'm not sure I follow you on this. What do yo mean make sure it's back to level "0" before I buy it? I thought I could just buy it, plug it up to my truck, and then decide what level I want to run. Why does it need to be at "0"? And how can he/I do that before/after I buy it?

Level "0" is when the truck is returned to the stock program from Ford. For the Edge to work on any other truck the Edge has to be on Level "0".

Like the post before stated.
If it doesn't say level 0 when you plug it into your truck don't go any further. Because the other guy's stock program is still on there. The other way to tell is to get online and goto edge's web site and to update it using your computer. If any errors happen in the above 2 ways you are going to have to talk to edge's tech support.

Have the guy your buying it from verify its at stock level 0. If he asks why just tell him you don't want any headaches!
