Edge Evo losing tune?

I purchased my Evo back in early March and installed it immediately. I have ran it on all 3 cans but have settled with number 2. My problem is that about a week ago it seemed like my Evo had lost it's tune. I took it out of my truck, hooked it up to my laptop, and updated everything via USB. I re-installed it and everything is back to normal. I am in no way displeased with this product, I love it. I was just wondering if anyone could relate or had heard of this.

Not sure what you are saying exactly. There is no way for the tuner to fade, if that is what you are saying. It's a computer program. You don't even have to have it hooked up to the truck all the time. Once the program is loaded into the trucks PCM, it is there to stay. Now, it is possible that over time, your PCM recorded some "lazy" driving habits from your driving. To reset, you disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes and the PCM will start "relearning" all over again.

Your operating program does not change.

I'll try that, thanks. Just seemed like the power, response, and such was reverting back to the way it was before the programmer.

i suspect there are two things at work, causing that. One, you are getting used to it, and two, you may not have been driving it "aggresively" so it has adapted to a mellower mode.

Adaptive tuning strategy at work. Reload the tune and I bet you'll notice a difference.

Ya I reloaded it tonight with a bit more firm shifting and fuel and noticed a difference again. I never knew the PCM "learned" the driving habits. I'm definitely a non-aggressive driver as I'm always trying to save gas. Good to know...

I'm really the same way. I think all programmed tunes, regardless of programmer will act in this manner if you drive the way you say you do.

But, if I want to pass someone on a 2-lane road and I don't have a whole lot of room left before the next no-passing zone, when I floor it, the truck takes off - immediately!

I think you'll see that behavior from all the reputable programmers too.

Some guys even reload their tunes every time they get gas.
