best programmer?

I was wondering what would be best to buy with a budget of 300-400 bucks? I dont have any mods yet but i have a 6 inch sus lift, 3 inch body lift, and 33x13.50 swampers sitting here. I plan to program for performance and plan to add tb spacer, k&n intake kit, exhaust, and any other little addons for performance i can find.. I have a 99 ford f150 4x4 with 5.4l engine.. also any suggestions as to what exhaust, intake and other goodies for performance..

Save the money of the TB spacer. Total waste. For a programmer, you need custom tunes to get the most out of a CAI. That means either an Xcal3 or a Gryphon. The Gryphon provides a monitor with gauges and the Xcal3 does not. However, there has been an issue with the hardware for the Gryphon on the unit for 99-03. If you are ready to buy right now, that leaves the Xcal3. The Gryphon issue will hopefully be resolved in the near future.

I just joined, but i had a similar post : https://www.f150online.com/forums/ch...ggestions.html

I would reccomend the GOTTS mod: https://www.f150online.com/forums/ar...3-f-150-a.html

and silencer removal: http://www.fordf150.net/howto/airintake.php (im prolly going to get flamed for linking outside the site, but i couldnt find it on f150online.com)

i would do these before the k&n and see how you like them( I was able to do it and I dont have that much experience, so its not that hard)

You left out the multiposition switch chips. SCT also has the 6600, which any SCT dealer can custom tune. It is a great value for people looking to budget.

I left it out because right now, my only opinion is at best nil. I have no experience with them at all other than on a diesel. On my truck, I prefer setting everything the way I want it and leaving it there. I don't have any interest in "on the fly" changes. I'll let you do the recommendations on those.

9 inches of lift, I'd be shopping for bigger tires. I would say even 35's would look small.

Short and sweet, i.r.s. I got it immediately. We're going to have to start sending you a finder's fee every month. Thanks for the post!
