I got a 05 f150 5.4 v8 and i put the hypertech power programmer III on it, but i was wondering if the edge was a better way to go. Does the edge increase hp more than the hypertech, and also will you get better mpg with the edge evolution programmer?

 

Neither ... Get a custom tuned programmer. I'd recommend a Xcal3 from VMP Tuning.

 

In my opinion, the Edge is much better than the Hypertech, but I would recommend the Gryphon. Same hardware with gauges as the Edge, but with custom tunes as an option.

 

Edge would be a better choice. But even a better choice would be a gryphon from php for the ability to get custom tunes.
Also don't forget about the xcal3+livewire from either troyer or vmp.
