Suggestions on Edge Evo needed

Ok, tard time with Teasley, me being both of the former and later and you all being the enlightened masses that can suggest a thing or two (besides playing in traffic blindfolded).

I have an Edge Evo and have tweaked it here and there and would like to know if anyone has any suggestions as far as creating a custom file. I am running mid-grade gas with the stock 275-55-20s and have the DWM intake mod and will be putting on my true x-over duals running Moroso Spiral Flows, 2.5" all the way back.

So if anyone can please contribute setting suggestions for Level 2 and 3, it would be most appreciated. Yes, I know about PHP but at the moment I am being sucked dry in the money department by a 17 year old teen girl. For those of you that have one, I feel your pain. For those of you who don't - BEWARE!

I am slowly but surely saving a penny here and there for a trip to PHP some time soon but want to do something now. Thanks ahead of time.

If you can't afford customs at this point. Then stick at level 2 don't go level 3 and save some cash to do the upgrade. JackandJanet has some good advice on shift points and firmness that may help.
Sorry to hear your daughter is draining the piggy bank.

Level 2 did not save money for me. I got 11% better mileage out of Level 3, which more than paid the difference in cost and it performed much better.

I ran 93 on level 3 most of the time, so I bumped the timing +1 and sometimes +1.25.

Shift Pressure: +12, +12, +9
WOT Fuel: 1.5
Shift RPMS: 5250, 5250, 4800
Max RPMs: 5650
Normal shifts: No change
Set my tires and gears
Speed: 110

I put 31,000 on the truck with those settings and used the same for Level 2 when I had to tow a trailer.

Thanks BlueJay!

I am not going to get into the price comparrison of gas but in our area right now premium 92 oct is $.45 higher than 87 oct. I wasn't "saving" that much running the "good stuff". I was saving approx $.15-$.20 per gallon keeping it stock or at level 2. The other problem I had is not a lot of the small towns carry the "good stuff". Well I just got my custums installed this weekend and I am really impressed so far with the 87 perf tune that Bill wrote for me.

Around here, at the time, 93 was only 25 cents more than 87 and I can still find that, but yes, 45 cents is different.

Yeo, now, the 87 Perf is the shiznit as far as I'm concerned. Does all I really need and save the dollars. Paid for ***** my Perf tunes with the savings in 6 months.

I've gotten into this a bit late, but I see Bluejay's given you some good numbers to try.

In my case, I set the WOT shift points at 5000, 5000, 4600. And I put the max RPM at 5400. I was using 87 octane gas on Level 2 with this. I used 5000 as the shift point in 1-2 and 2-3 upshifts because I think the HP and torque curves are already beginning to drop in this region.

They are definitely dropping on Level 2.

I appreciate all the input. I tried out Bluejay's settings and the difference really showed. I can tell that Ford is really programming their vehicles via a lawyer's briefcase. I could go on and on about that, but this isn't the site for that.

I finally got a new work truck (Thanks Uncle Sam!!) and it's a 09 F150 Standard Cab short bed. I have to take it down to the dealer to have the flashers and strobes put in and after that, I'll drive it like I stole it. It also gives me a test vehicle to try out different things without touching mine first.

Maybe the Mods could create an info page with the most asked about subjects so all we have to do is reference them (i.e., tire size vs. lift, programmer settings vs. mpg/hp, etc.,) and best mods vs. gains. I could go on and on, but it would be cool

That is the downfall of this canned tune. Low to mid range gains

What I'm referring to is the design of the tune. Level 2 gives you more low end torque but the power band fades rapidly over 1800 rpms whereas level 3 pulls all the way till it shifts. What Jack is referring to is that the power is diminishing more rapidly over 5000 rpms and I suspect a dyno would prove he is correct. Testing would be the only way to find out if it helps or hurts the 1/4 mile run, if you're using the truck on the track.

Don't worry Bluejay! I know what your talking about. I can visualize the operations in my head better than putting it into words through a keyboard and on to a screen!

Nah, I do the occasional 0-60 check, thats it. I left the racing thing behind years ago. Smacking a few up will do that to you
