Vibration??

I've had my edge for a couple weeks now and everything was working excellent until this past weekend when i noticed a "shudder" or vibration on the freeway. I returned to stock but it is still there. I thought the firmer shift points might have messed up my u bolts, because i have a lift on it, but my mechanic said the u bolts look fine today and to drive it some more and really find some details to see if it is tire balance, coil going out, etc. Any idea guys? I'll be cruising 70 and if i let off the gas it does it and feels like it bogs down...don't know how else to explain it haha

U-bolts or u-joints?
How much is it lifted?
How big are your tires?

oh really? I didn't even think of that. If it was a wheel bearing wouldn't my steering wheel shake as well? Because the only vibration i feel is in the cab. By the way i haven't felt it today at all so i'm just waiting for it to come back now haha

depends how bad the bearing is. when i blew mine i drove for a stupid amount of time afterwards so i got to feel it gradually get worse. the worse it got the more shudder there was and starting at lower speeds. the joys of big tires eh haha. a quick check on the bearing is to lift the front end in the air, grab the tire on the bottom or top and see if moves.

yea if it totally failed, near the end before i changed mine it felt like the front was on washboard all the time. but the first noise the bearing ever made sounded like the cv boot was "sticky"

Truck details? Reason I ask is to know which rear diff you have. The 8.8 is a lot weaker than the 9.75 that comes with the 5.4. How fast were you spinning the engine? The torque converter, if automatic, doesn't like to spend a lot of time over 5700rpm. Rear disk brakes have shoes and a drum for a parking brake. If it sticks on it will make your truck feel like a stone.

well if it sticks in the rear it'll feel like you got a sumo wrestler holding onto the back of it while your trying to accelerate. thats a distinct feel plus the pulsation in your seat if they're fried. Superduty's have a bad problem with that if you tow alot. I work at a Ford deaership and you have a tendency to learn where a certain vehicles fail points are
