Tow tune and tow/haul button?

If i am towing a 5000 lb boat and i have my edge on level 2, can i still turn the overdrive off or is there no need since i have the edge on level 2?

if it is popping in and out of overdrive i would recommend turning overdrive off so you don t tear up the insides of your trans. I pulled a 6k boat about 80 miles and had my truck customed tuned by php and still was slipping was much happier when i turned the overdrive off and better gas milage. I was in tow mode too.

I doubt having your Edge on level 2 will change the need to turn overdrive off when towing. That recommendation will remain the same.

Agree - I think a 5000# load is better pulled with O/D off. (Unless you're going downhill on a gentle incline or are on flat level ground or have a tailwind, etc.).

I tend to pull my 3600#, low-profile trailer with the O/D on. I get relatively few downshifts into 3rd unless I start a long climb. When I notice the transmission shifting in and out of O/D, I simply lock the O/D out. I also do it when coming down steep, long descents to avoid using the brakes.

In my opinion, you let the transmission tell you what to do.
