Helping friend buy best programmer for him
Helping friend buy best programmer for him
Hey guy's, I'm a 6.0 PSD guy and am kind of clueless on the gas F-150's. My buddy is lifting his 2007 F-150 8" with 37's with the stock 3.73 gears for now but those are coming soon. He's also planning on supercharging the truck a few years down the road. My concern is how to correct the speedo, it's really easy on the super duty but there seems to be so many options for the 150. Do most of the supercharger kits benefit from a tuner or do they just require a PCM reflash or something? I read alot about the Edge Evo which seems to get thumbs down compared to the Gryphon due to the lack of custom tunes. The SCT tuners dominate the PSD market, are they good for the 150 too? We're looking to just recalibrate for the tires and gears right now and to keep the tunes all stock. But we're trying to plan ahead so no extra money has to be wasted on having to go with another tuner. Thanks for the advice in advance!

Tarajerame, thanks for the advice. I am stressing to him that gears will need to come somewhat soon after the lift. The motor is stock except for exhaust and he's not changing anything until he get's a programmer.
He likes the idea of the Gryphon dash mount and PID display. Will the SCT and Gryphon both be compatible with a supercharger install?
