Question Doing the Edge level 2 mod today, anything to know first?

My Edge was delivered by UPS today, so when I get home I plan to install and set mmy truck to the 87+ Tow Performance tune (level 2) but is their anything to know before hand? I have read the book pretty good while I was waiting for my unit to arrive... so I think I am good to go, any tips?

PLMK, thanks!

It's a very simple install and well worth the money. It only takes a few minutes to set up. The directions are very easy to follow, not much you can mess up.

As far as mounting goes, it comes with a bracket and 3M tape to make the pod stick to the dash. I didn't use it, it almost snapped into place. It was a very nice and snug fit. By not using the 3M tape, you can remove the Edge and pod easier if you have to service your truck at the dealership.

Should I update the software on the unit first before hooking it to my truck?

Yes, update the software first.

My install was very quick and easy, and the dash mount snapped right into place.

I though the cable was a little long, so I wrapped it around something before I ran it up the side of the dash. It might have been the plastic heat vent going to the door. That way the cable is not hanging down.

You can also just twist it back and forth and tie it with a wire tie. That's what I did.

Its easy to do man dont sweat it. I can seriously take mine in and out of my truck now including programming time in under 5 minutes for the whole thing thats taking it back to stock. Completely removing it from the truck, Reinstalling it and reporgramming it.

Thumbs up Yeah Baby!

Yeah, just finished playing with it I did not get to update it yet but the install was a breeze, pod snapped in place well enough, my one and maybe only gripe would be whoever "cut" the hole in the pod could have done a better job, a perfect square it is not. The only difference in my install and the instructions was the instructions show a hex code screen popping up and mine never did. So since it did not, I looked in the specs area of my truck (in the unit) and found my hex info, so the install was all good. I installed the level 2 AND reconfigured for my 23" tires so now not only does my truck run a whole lot better, my speedo is as close to dead on as possible, and verified by GPS too since were going on a lil drive tomorrow to drop off a relative in Northern MS.
The Best $354 (autoanything.com $379 -$25 edge rebate) I have spent on my truck to date, bar none.

Yes, you will! But, on most of the trucks, you get about 10%-11% better mileage and that pays for the difference in cost. It's much better on the highway. I ran Level 3 exclusively until I got the 87Performance tune.

Is the edge level 3 93 octane comparible to the gryphon 87 performance custom tune?

Too late, Just look in the mirror at yourself, see that grin on your face, Your Hooked! Welcome to the Club. I have had mine now for about a month or so and I still can't stop smiling when I'm driving now.

Very close in power and the custom 87 Performance has much better downshifting characteristics. You can downshift at virtually any speed, where as on level 3, I had dead spots. It paid for itself in 6 months for me.
