My Bad Tuner Luck

Just a quick note to share my frustration. I have been saving for awhile so I can buy a Xcal3 from Troyer. Last week finally had enough money to buy it. So when It came yesterday I could not wait to plug it in and make my little 4.6 Fly. But I keep getting an unsupported error. So today when I called SCT they tell me I am the first one to find out that there is a new revison for my truck. the Tech put the order in for the revsion while I was on the phone. So now I can't use my tuner untill they write the new revision, Or my custom tunes come from Troyer which is 8 to 10 weeks. So I have a nice SCT sitting in my desk just waiting to run.

A new revision for a 2005? That seems odd to me. Also, 8 to 10 weeks! That would drive me nuts. I don't wait well!

That is just too long. At least you have the canned tunes to play with and enjoy while you wait. Things have really changed. Back when Bill could tune the Edge and was just getting started, I ordered custom tunes on a Friday and he emailed them to me on Monday.

I'm not even enjoying these canned tunes because I'm to scared too with my CAI. I can't remember the last time I went WOT.

The Edge came out in 2005. I got mine in August, 2006, I think. I had 31,000 on my truck when I got the Edge. I put 31,000 or so on the canned tunes, and have 22,000 and counting on Bill's custom tunes.

VMP can get you your tunes in about 2 weeks, maybe less. I forget how long exactly it took for Brewdude to get his, but I know it was quick.

Take the CAI off and reinstall your stock one. Then install the canned tune's in your truck. The power gain's the canned tune's will give you is way better than what your getting with just the CAI. I decided to reinstall my factory intake since I haven't gotten custom tune's yet and the only loss i've felt by going back to the stock intake is in the upper rpm's.

That is only if you buy the programmer and custom tunes through PHP.

If you get an Edge and send it to them for the Gyrphon update and order custom tunes at that time, it's a much shorter time frame. I did the latter and had my programmer back in around 2 weeks time with a custom tune.
