When a shift is taking place, that split second when the tranny is between gears is critical. It's similar to being in neutral, very briefly. The engine needs the 400 additional rpms as a rev gap.
Ok thank you very much Bluejay. Just fixed it.

I see everyone on here is shifting out around 5100-5300. I've been having my edge for 5 months now and have been shifting out at 5800 in all gears. My motor and trans don't seem to be reving to high but ya'll are running around the same times 0-60 as me. What are ya'll running as far as timing, shift firmness, and WOT fuel?

As I recall, the LT has different HEX codes and does not work.

In my opinion, you are getting into the range of diminishing returns. The pull starts to drop as you go past 5000 and there is a point when you would pull better in the next gear. Would have to dyno each truclk to see where that is, but I think you are going well beyond it and overworking the engine for no gain. Just my worthless opinion.

I was wondering if anyone had some setting for level 2 that could get pretty good gas mileage for an '03 5.4L

FYI-

Take a moment and listen for any pinging if you're running any mods with a programmer. I never had run into it with my last truck, but had a light amount on light part throttle driving. Even running 91 octane with the timing still backed of a couple degrees.

I had been advised by Edge tech support that if I was running mods (CAI & Catback) I should send it to Power Hungry and get some custom tunes for the mods..... that's where my programmer is heading now. I'd also been advised that I would most likely be running too lean, and that I should stay in L2 and keep out of full throttle runs until I got custom tunes.

Just thought ya should know..... nobody wants to break anything.

Mine shifts 1-2 somewhere around 5200 at that time I start hearing the fan belt squealing. Is this OK? It sounds like its gonna blow off at any time. Should I reset the shiffting RPM'S, BTW its and Edge. (WOT Shiffting is what im talking about).

Timing Adj

I have been running level 3 for a long time with my Evolution, but lately switched down to level 2 & bumped my timing up +.75 to go up to 89 octane, due to me doing some towing. I could have gone up to +1.0, but chose to play it safe since I have additional mods on my truck.

You could retard your timing on level 3 if you want, but I prefer to bump up the timing as the manual specifies.

Wondering why you say you need 400 rpm's between shift point ant rev limiter? I talked to Bill from PHP and he told me 200.

I had mine set at 150 rpm over, that's what the edge book said to set it at. I got some rough shifting so I set it at 500, cleared my records, and punched on it a couple times. I then looked at the difference between my shift point and where my truck was shifting out at really and set it just a little over that. At 300 over. Hope this helps I think it just depends on whats done to what truck.

I am hoping someone can help me out. I have had my Edge programmer for a couple of months and I still feel like I am not getting the best performance. I have a heavy 2007 FX4 with the stock 3.73 gears. However, I am running some heavy 22" wheels with 37" tires and can't get my truck to kick. I do a lot of driving (120 miles/day) on the highway and like to pass so I run the 87/88 fuel. I don't use the truck much because it is too slow.

Can anyone help?
Here are my current settings.

WOT shift
1-2 4750
2-3 4800
3-4 4500

Firmness (I don't like the kick)
-5;-7;-10

Gears
3.73

Tires
2951

Gear Lock/Unlock
1;2;3;4;1;2;3;4

I have not messed with the timing or other setting because I don't want to mess it up. Hopefully someone here already has some settings with the 37's at the best performance.

Thanks for the help in advance.
