Used edge questions..

I have an opportunity to purchase an edge evolution supposedly 6 months old from a guy for $300. Wondering if thats a good deal and I'm also wondering if there is a way of telling if the thing is working correctly. Is purchasing these things a bad idea should I fork over the extra $150 and just get a new one? Thanks for your opinions.

First, you need to make sure it is the proper one for your truck, I think it would be the model 2100. The 2400 is for 2004 and later. Secondly make sure that the truck it was on was returned to stock or it will not work on another truck. Thridly, a new one is only about $359 I think, from auto anything. And lastly, if you can pay a little more or you plan on a CAI, you are better off getting the Gryphon and custom tunes.

www.powerhungryperformance.com.

If you decide to go with it, hope all goes well.

I'm not sure that I want a CAI but you never know. I looked at auto anything and its 399.20 close enough that I'll go new. Where can I get a price for the Gryphon?. My main thing is my speedometer is off due to tires and of course I would like the monitoring capability's and the 93 octane and economy seting and all. If the gryphon could be had for not to much more I would consider it.

The link I gave you is where you get the Gryphon. It's the same hardware as the Edge, so you get the monitor and pod. It even comes with the same canned tunes as the Edge, but has the ability to get custom tunes. I had the Edge and now have the Gryphon tunes and Bill's custom tunes are worth the difference.
