gryphon and new cluster question

I found a great deal on a lariat guage cluster. I will be moving up from an xlt. I have custom tunes on my gryphon now. What do I need to do with the gryphon when I install the new cluster. I will probably install it and have the dealer flash it or have them do it all. I have not decided yet.

I don't think you have to do anything with the Gryphon, it's job is to program the PCM and then just monitor outputs through the OBDII port. But - you MAY be getting more trouble than you bargained for if you do a cluster swap. The PATS key talks to something (I don't know what, sorry) in your XLT cluster. If it supplies the correct code, your truck will start. The Lariat cluster will expect a different code. Your truck will not start.

I think there ARE ways around this, but they are expensive from what I have read.

Just have the stock tune in your PCM when the dealer messes with the PCM!
