I suppose I could have Jim, but, now that there's a link to the one on the PHPForum, it doesn't seem necessary. I kind of thought a snorkel was needed to bring the air in from the inner fender well - a relatively "cool" source (although maybe not so much in Southern Arizona) and it should be a fairly "calm" air source, so it wouldn't induce additional turbulence into the intake. Trust me though, I KNOW the intake is NOT a laminar flow device, but I thought, "Why make things worse?"

If air is flowing past the nose of the intake, it will create a low pressure area there, which will, to some extent, defeat the advantage of the wider opening.

I'll be interested to see if Bill has any different opinions.

I guess the real reason I didn't put it on this forum, is because the subject came up between Bill and another member, who evidently tried it before Gotts did. It got me in an "experimenting" mood, and I naturally responded there.

Ah, my job here is done.

(Bill will answer your question as soon as he gets a second, Bluejay.)
