Dealer Reflash

Going in for some warraty work what happens if the dealer reflashes without my concent.I will return tune to stock but if they reflash i will have a new stradigy code then what? I can read the new code and sent to 5 star to see if the new code is compatable but what happens if it isnt?

From what I understand you'll be fine. Like you said, return it to stock. Let them do whatever they need to do including reflashing. When you get it back reload your custom tune and your good to go. Simple as that

Maybe, maybe not. If it's like the Gryphon, the custom tunes depend on the PCM's hex code, which changes if the dealer does a reflash. If all you have on your programmer are canned tunes, you're probably ok.

Fitz,

you have the XCal 3 custom tuned, correct?

When you re tune to stock and they re flash you will have to get 5 star to rewrite the tunes for the new strategy code.

if it's deemed necesarry by them to solve problem by reflashing it- they will ,or they will note that customer did not want a reflash , and it will be noted on repair history that they attempted to solve problem, that customer didn't allow this to happen...

Yes im custum tuned and i think the tunes will need to be redone.

Oh, I thought the hex code was a permanent thing. I didn't realize that it changes when re-flashed. That's a pita.
