Edge issues

My screen tends to light up green and not show my displays. It is mainly after it has sat outside at work. Our temp. here has been above freezing and it still does it. Does anyone know if I have any options?

From your first post, it sounds like the problem is intermittent, right? Sometimes, like maybe when your truck's been in a garage, the display is normal on start?

From several posts on this, I'm getting the feeling that the Edge is quite sensitive to cold weather conditions.

I'd call Edge regardless of the age of your unit though. They need to know about these problems and who knows, they MAY have some ideas. Perhaps Bill (ASEMechanic) will notice this too and post some thoughts.

At what point does the display come back on?

As close as you can get to ASEMechanic (he's working on custom tunes)!

The only time it will come back on is if I unplug it and replug it in, otherwise it will stay lit with just the backlight and not gauges. Also when this happens it doesn't shut off with the truck.

Whups! That sounds like a somewhat low battery. When you unplug it and plug it back in, is the engine (alternator) running? If so, you'd have higher voltage available at the OBDII port and the Edge would initialize normally.

The Edge (and the Gryphon) are sensitive to low voltage and, as Bluejay said in another thread, you can take this behavior as an "early warning" of battery problems.

Actually I only unplug it and plug it in when the truck is not running.... So it should still be coming off of the battery

OK, I'm out of ideas now except back to my original one to call Edge.
