Another new Edge install....wow!!!

I was not expecting such noticeable performance gains! I just added a Flowmaster S.S. dual exit exhaust, K&N CAI, and the Edge Evolution. Been driving it around all night on Level 3 and just can't get enough of the new found power and wonderful exhaust noises. I have the 4.6L V8 and it is much stronger, and faster, than my previous 5.4L (that also had the intake and exhaust but not the Edge) so I am all smiles now! Doesn't even seem like I am driving a Ford....now I know what others have been singing about! What a great mod!

hehe...not even close, although the F150 launches off the line quicker, the F250 power surge was unbelievable once the twin turbos spooled up and just came on stronger like a locomotive. The F250 was notably stronger and more capable when towing. But the F150 with the Edge and other mods is more fun to drive while in traffic and getting much better mileage.

Big improvement over stock even with the canned tunes. Custom tunes are the next step up for me.

I agree....I thought the F150 was a bit of a dog at first (and I know that's not fair coming out of the PowerStroke to a 4.6) but the Edge really woke it up. Combined with the intake and exhaust, it really is like driving a whole other truck and highly recommend the can tunes to start. Been reading what others have been experiencing with the custom tunes and will probably do same.

Congratulations! We always tell people how great the Evolution is -- your post is just more proof!

(I'll let Bill know that you like the tunes! )

I'm getting 16-18 mpg now on my daily commute even with the big tires and it accelerates pretty good on level 2 using 87 octane so I guess I'm just scared to rock the boat! It tow's OK too.

Why not order the Gryphon from PHP? you get the same canned tunes as are in the Edge, right away. Then you can order whatever custom tunes you want and have the canned tunes to play with as you wait. So, you get blown away with the canned tunes and then get blown away again when you get the custom tunes.

I don't think you will have the lean problem unless you are running a 2004 or 2005 5.4 3v. I would suggest calling Bill at PHP and he can tell you if there is any risk. I bought 2 custom tunes. I retained the canned towing tune as it was adequate for me, I seldom tow. I got an 87 Performance and a 93 Performance. They are fantastic.

I have been running first, the canned tunes and then custom for a total of 2 1/2 years, over 50,000 miles. I would hate to drive my truck without it.

Maybe a little off topic, but I just bought a used Edge from another F150online member and I have a couple of questions before it gets here. First, should one use a specific canned tune when running in 4wd, or is whatever tune happens to be in use at the time sufficient? Second, if my primary purpose for using an Evolution is to increase fuel economy (not saying that's my only purpose - that's just what I'm telling the lady to justify the purchase), which canned tune would I use? Thanks
