Howdy folks. I have a problem and i need some advice from all the great minds on the site. My truck was broken into and the @#$%^&*$@$*@@ STOLE my jvc headunit (avx800) and they Took my EDGE, usb cable, and mounting pod. I was on level 2, worst of all it was canned, so im in towing mode and it sucks. Is it as simple as taking the truck to the dealer and letting them reset the truck or am i sol. btw gryphon here i come.

 

The dealer needs to re-flash. Your warranty is up correct? There should be no issues from them in that case.

 

This may seem extreme, but if you can live without your vehicle for a few days, we'll be happy to re-flash your PCM for no charge except for shipping. Do you know your serial number, BTW? If so, we can log it and if anyone tries to get us to "update their Evo," we'll nail the SOB!

If you're planning on getting a Gryphon sooner than later, we can always reprogram your truck with it as soon as you plug it in.

I don't have the serial # for the edge but if you can flash it for me I'm game. I'd rather pay shipping than whatever the dealer is gonna charge me. Thanks a mil and a half

Since you're in FL, shipping shouldn't be THAT terrible, I would hope. And you are so very welcome. I'm really sorry that happened to you. I just don't understand why some people do what they do, but I'm glad we can help. Just an FYI... UPS isn't delivering on Friday since so many businesses are expected to be closed.

 

Aw, thanks, Jack. It's just about being a nice person. I know that sounds lame and somewhat simplistic, but when it comes down to helping someone, that's a no-brainer. The world would be a much nicer place if everyone just looked out for one another.

 

That really sucks. Hope everything works out for you. At least you have an excuse to get a Gryphon.

They jimmied me. My ins won't cover the edge and head unit and installation not more than deductible. So uch for getting a good deal on crutchfield.
