asemechanic--trottle body part numbers

a throttle body starting with a "3" is the old bad one. it has problems. my tech friend said he did them all the time.

my throttle body number is: 3L3E-AD 0467073 O3L

the new one is the second revision for these trucks.

the new one is : 8L3Z-9E926-A

IF ANYONE GETS THROTTLE ISSUES AND YOUR THROTTLE BODY STARTS WITH A 3, IT IS THE OLD BAD UNIT. GET IT REPLACED.

FOR THE TSB NUMBER, ILL GET BACK TO YOU.

Out of curiosity, what year is your truck?

2005, it looks like that is the cut-off year. the revision was an 06, and the newest revision is an o8. not sure if that is a year reference or a part number reference. just repeating things my tech friend said.

he said that he had so many issues back when he worked for them, they actually made it protocol to just replace the entire throttle body. he said ford started cheap and only said to check and replace sensors, eventually it was narrrowed down to the entire throttle body going bad.

This is AseMechanic at the moment. No joke.

He's going to try and jump on here as soon as he wakes up (and has a free minute!)

Thanks for that post! It's really helpful. Hopefully we can sticky this somewhere or maybe FAQ it.

Take care.

has anyone found any more answers to this problem. I replaced front and rear brakes yesterday and now i am getting the same codes. i know it has nothing to do with replacing the brakes, but just wondering if anymore has been resolved.

From what I understand, TexasGirl had the new throttle body installed, the PCM updated, and all the problems were resolved. You might PM them and get more details.

Throttle body with "3"

We have 2005 Ford F150 - the throttle body has the 3L3E-AD 0711132 01L 100204 2. Can you tell me what the replacement we need is?
