Edge Shift Firmness

Alright i got a 07 5.4 and to gie it a little more life ive added a edge evo, k&n 77 seris CAI, single chamber flowmaster, and my new toy a BBK 80 mm throttle body. I run on power level 3 all the time just love what its givin me ive set my own shift points but everytime i touch the shift firmness the tranny goes crazy and slips shifts real slow and gets confused on when to down shift and almost causes like a stickky throttle, thats even just bumpin them all up plus 3 from the non-user set tune. Any explanation for this?

What is the HEX code of your PCM? I'll take a look at it and see what the deal is.

The HEX code is the series of letters and numbers that you saw when you first plugged in the Edge. It identifies the program that is running in your PCM. I may be mistaken, but try turning your engine off, unplugging the monitor, then turn the key on but do not start the engine. Now plug the monitor in and see if it doesn't display the HEX code. I would suggest writing the code down and keeping it in the glove box.

Isn't there a place in the menu that says show hex code?

That would probably be a good idea. I saw on one thread you had your firmness at like +12 my truck just freaks out if i even touch it. My girlfriend thinks its to hard as it is so i may be leavin it alone haha

Man, I just don't know. May very well be. I have not looked at the menu stuff in over a year. I changed my tire setting this last weekend and while messing with it, I unplugged the monitor and when I plugged it back up, I saw my HEX code. Since I have the custom tune, the only thing I looked at was the tire setting.

Yep, I ran +12 on the first 2 shifts and +9 on the 3rd shift for a long time. Then got the custom tunes, so no longer mess with the pressure. Bill's tune got the firmness I asked for and the downshifting is so much better than the canned tunes, it's unbelievable. The custom tunes was money well spent, for me.

Better sooner than later, Ford4Ever. Those of us who've done it would NEVER go back!

You'll be talking to an expert in tuning Ford trucks when you talk to Bill, too. In fact, they insist you talk to them before they write your tunes so they know exactly what you have and what you want.
