Should I?

I have a 2001 xlt with 165,000 miles on it. It still runs strong except for the COPs that need to be replaced.
I want a programmer on my truck but i was concerned about weather i should get one or not with my amount of miles. I have a 4.6l

Thanks in advance

A programmer will make it much more fun to drive every time you get in it. It will only be detrimental if you start driving it a lot harder and going WOT. That would be detrimental whether you have a tuner or not. I put 22,000 plus a year on my truck and I never want to be without a tuner.

....and you know what?
Driving it hard......with fairly regular WOT's, is still not that hard on it!
Take care of it with quality products! Synthetic fluids, regular maintenance, etc.
I drive my truck hard, but I baby it at the same time......NO FEAR. These trucks and their motors are bullit proof......do not under-estimate how tough and reliable they are!
Trust me - I run a company fleet with 50 trucks.......where guys beat the hell out of them and don't give a ****........late oil changes and they still go forever!
