Kudos to Edge

I had installed an Edge Evolution in my 2006 F150 and loved it. No problems, worked great and really picked the truck up. Unfortunately, when less than a year old, a fully-loaded dump truck decided to run a Stop Sign and literally ripped the whole right side of the cab open. Although I suffered some brain damage, broke my back, leg, wris etc..., I made it thanks to Ford...one helluva tough truck.

While in the hospital, my buddy stripped out what he could, including my Edge Evolution. Now that I'm back on my feet, I wanted to install it in my 2007 (what else would I buy!!) I never had a chance to return it to stock, so I e-mailed Edge for advice. Within hours, I was e-mailing back and forth with Nate Halliday of Edge, and he stuck with me through re-programming, providing links to the software, updates and codes needed. It would have been easy for them to just say "ship it back" and charge me for the programming, but they didn't.

Everything worked perfectly, and he always answered me back within a few hours. I'm sure the other tuners have good customer support, but the support from Edge was second-to-none.

Once again, thanks to Edge and especially Nate.

That's a hell of a story! Glad you're back on the road and that you've got your Edge back.

I'll post pics later if anybody's interested, but it'll make you cry. I can barely look at 'em (17,000 miles, RIP).

Once again, thanks!

i may have come off as rude, pardon my words, upon me being granted my driving privileges back, the pa state police officer who went with me for my test had first hand experience,he lost his wife and 2 infants , she was hit head on by a gentleman who WASN'T CLEARED to drive after a bad head injury, he ended up blacking out and taking 3 lives, when the officer told me this with a tear coming down his face,i fully understood the situation,my heart went out for him...

First off, sorry to hear all the injuries you had to go through....it's tough, and I wish you the best of luck, sounds like you're doing OK now.

Now, about your post and calling me ignorant. I don't see how you could come to your conclusion based on a 3-paragraph post with only a few words dedicated to my injuries....that wasn't the point of my post. It was to thank Edge for superior customer service. If you want to talk injuries, I could list two or three pages of injuries I sustained during my 30+ years as a Law Enforcement (and Motorcycle) Officer, including being shot, stabbed, you-name-it, it's either been broken or bled. I'm not going to get into a "who's got the most broken stuff" discussion.

Yes, I suffered short-term memory loss, but as any Neurologist will tell you, it doesn't necessarily affect your motor skills or comprehension (i.e. has no effect on driving). I can ASSURE you that I'm not putting other drivers at risk, based upon my Neurologist's and Neurosurgeon's findings and opinions, not that it's any business of yours. Yes, the crash did end my career, but it was the spinal injuries, not the head injury that did it. My doctors didn't think it would be a good idea for me to get into any more fights or get tossed out of any more windows.

No hard feelings, but I just don't know the basis of your seemingly mean-spirited post. Perhaps you read my post and took it a bit too literally. Maybe you thought that I was just out driving aimlessly around, drooling and thinking I was a carrot and couldn't remember how to get home.....those days were 30 years ago!

Anyway, I'm sorry you felt the need to attack me. Just MY .02

I guess I was typing when you posted this. I understand, believe me. I was a Traffic Homicide Investigator, and I had to tell way too many families what happened to their loved-ones, be it a driver that was DUI, over-medicated, even falling asleep.

No hard feelings, lets talk TRUCKS!!! I will tell 'ya, that F150 saved my butt. If I woulda been in one of those little "green" cars, or even another truck, I don't think I'd be typing right now. I investigated many crashes where the same (or even less) amount of damage resulted in fatalities. If I would have rolled-up on my truck, I'd been on the radio asking for the Coroner.

Ford-Tough isn't just a slogan!!!!!

fordman, I think most of us could tell from your first post that you were not in the "drooling idiot" category. And, to give him credit, I suspect openclasspro had second thoughts too, looking at his second post.

Regardless, it seems you BOTH have pretty amazing survival stories to tell. I lost a woman I was pretty serious with to a drunk driver about 16 years ago. She got T-boned in an intersection and I was right behind her. The drunk was doing about 80mph in town and ran a red light. So, I can identify with any crash victim.

I'm glad you're BOTH around to talk about it. Some people don't make it that far.

fordman-guess i took it the wrong way when i read- i can't remember poop ,but i can drive-honestly, the first thing i thought of was the look in that officer's eyes, i'm man enough to say my bad,i learned after my head injury -the frt part of the head is responsible for many things-ie-sense of smell, taste, memory,i couldn't taste food or smell it,lost 38 lbs in a months time, couldn't sleep at all, reallyopened my eyes up to stories i hear of depression ,as i was in one for nearly 3 months, like i said my bad, hope you accept my public apology?and glad to hear you pulled through, phil

YES I DO, but no need, I understand where you were coming from after your second post. I just wish the weight-lobe woulda been disabled. Forced retirement is NOT good for the physique

That's my boy Nate! I'll have to send this thread to the guys at Edge so they can give him a pat on the back.

Glad to hear they got you straightened out and running. Nice guys over there.

Take care and God bless.
