Banks OttoMind

Can this be used at the same thing as an Xcal in downloading tunes and transfering them to the truck? The price you can grab these at right now, 160 bucks, has just got me wondering what these things really do.
Link and the sale on them.

You'd have to check with Banks on that. I find $160.00 really hard to believe. I don't even think Banks sells them for that as that would barely cover their costs on the hardware. If it's a legitimate deal then I'd say that's a tough one to beat, but I'd be very cautious as to why they are so inexpensive.

One thing to be careful with... If you look at the two links you posted you'll notice that the two items look nothing alike. In fact, the "SALE" unit looks suspiciously like an X-Cal2 with some Banks badging on it. I'd honestly be a little wary as this has the faint odor of misrepresentation on it.

Good luck.

Yea you just have to look around the entire site because they are having a HUGE sale on parts for some reason, maybe because the 09s are out and they need to clear some inventory. If this thing can handle custom tunes I'm going to be all over it for that price.

Get a Gryphon and save your time and money, with that chip you will never see anything, also with the gryphon you get up to 4 gauges that monitor about 20 different things. On a side note I dont think you can custom tune it.
Save your money and buy something that is legite, cheaper is not always better, you have a 30k+ truck and you are wanting to only spend 150 on tunes save about another 200-300 and buy something that is going to work and has been tested, tested, and tested alittle more.

That makes me really want to buy it. Can you give me some info on it? Can you load tunes to it or just the one's already loaded on it? How are those tunes?

no only things u can change are octane levels, rev limiter, gear ratio, and different size tires. i was not happy with it and call banks. they said that was a the changes you could do with and there was no adjusting shift points, timing change, etc... so i wanted to return a was told if i had used the programmer that i couldnt return it very happy with the gryphon and would not buy the ottmind
