If you try to call PHP this week...

... you may not get through because Billy's going to be pretty much on his own in the office.

After Jon and his lovely wife stopped by today, I realized that I needed to use my nebulizer even though I'd just used it a few hours earlier. I decided, instead, to call the doctor (I just went on Halloween!). Anyway, after hearing me breathe (or not, as the case may be...) the first thing she said is, "I think you should be in a hospital." I told her it wasn't an option since we don't have health insurance. So I panted, wheezed, and was subjected to chest x-rays. She again told us, "I really think you need to be in the hospital." Yeah, okay... we've been through that. Now she has me taking a stronger steroid for 10 days (instead of the three we tried last week) and two different antibiotics.

I sure hope our new administration does something about healthcare. It's simply wrong that I have to opt to not be hospitalized when I really should be. And it's not that I like hospitals, mind you, but even I know that I should be there right now. That's just so wrong.

Anyway, if you call and can't get ahold of anyone, please understand that Billy's holding down the proverbial fort on his own.

Hope everything works out for you, Corey..... have a close friend with similar issues. Although Canadian medicare goes a long way to help on the financial side, it still isn't easy.

Prayers are with you and your family

Ouch! I wish you didn't have to take the steroids, Corey. In some ways I think this is a time when the cure is as bad as the problem.

Hope things clear up for you quickly!

I'll be sending good thoughts your way.

Thank you for your lovely posts! I'm up just long enough to process some orders and then I'm heading back to bed. Actually, I feel a zillion times better than I did at the doctor, but then again, I felt pretty okay when our customers arrived yesterday, too!

Ten days of steroids and multiple uses of the nebulizer each day are going to be interesting. For anyone who hasn't had to use steroids for inflammation or lung issues or what have you... they make you feel extremely jittery. In fact, when I finished with the nebulizer yesterday, I was, literally, shaking. It's all part of the deal, I guess. On a positive note, one cool side effect of taking the oral steroids for so long is that my psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis will probably totally clear for awhile. BONUS! Gotta stay positive after being sick for weeks or I'd opt to just crawl in a hole...

Have a wonderfully peachy Wednesday!

We can get health insurance through our corporation. It's the $1300/month that has kept us from taking that leap!

Is there anyone here that needs any other persuasive argument for "Health Insurance Reform"? I certainly don't! Bill and Corey are clearly productive, valuable and appreciated members of our society, and what does society do for them in return? And, I suspect there are many of you out there in the same situation. You're not "beggars", you're productive, hard working members of this great nation.

I think health insurance reform is one of the most important issues facing us as a nation as the next administration takes office. Let's make it happen! All you really have to do is convince your Congressmen to listen to YOU, not the lobbyists that take them to lunch every day.

Sorry for the political hijack - I'll step down from my soapbox now. :o

No one could pay me enough! And, no one would want me anyway, so I don't have to worry.

I think there are a few GOOD men and women in government. People that put the country ahead of their party or their own biases. The trick is to find them and to then support them in all that they do.
