Question Edge reset to stock by itself... advice, experience?

So, I've had the same issues other members have been mentioning, display screen freezing, lighting going out ect. I've been dealing with it, just unplug and plug back in and it kicks back up. The problem: A few days ago I turned it on and it said 0 on the screen even though it is set to level 2. I can tell it is still set to level two but the edge says its on stock. Does anybody know whats going on? The unit seems like its about on the fritz it never boots up normally and every once in a while the alarm goes off even though everything is fine, bought it two years ago and its finally wearing out. Calling Edge on Monday. Any discussion or advice would be welcome. Thanks!

BT, I'm sure sorry to hear about the problems you've been having. That takes all the fun out having the programmer. I can't think of any conceivable way for the unit to reset itself back to zero. That is completely strange.

The good news is that it should be quite easy to fix the truck being stuck in level two. Get in touch with Edge and explain the situation and they'll be able to reset the programmer into a stock writer to recover your original calibration. They will need some files from the programmer first so they can build a valid image to download onto the programmer.

Real quick, though... what are the model and version numbers on the sticker? Just curious if it old hardware or new hardware.

Good luck.

your trucks battery is most likely weak, when you start your truck the voltage is dropping way down and the unit does not fire up properly and displays a blank screen or just does not work like it should. it is a pretty common thing.

The unit reset itself. You need to call up Edge. What they will do is send you a factory tune which is then loaded onto the unit. It will over-write all other tunes. Then you load that onto the truck. Then you put the new tunes (performance tunes) back onto the Edge unit, and re-program. It's a bit of a pain process, but DO NOT RE-TUNE THE TRUCK BEFORE TALKING TO EDGE. I went through this process when I was a beta tester for them with my F-150.

My Edge recently reset itself when my battery went stone dead. It switched from Lvl2 to 0. Mine, I could tell was definitely not still in Lvl2 tho. When I tried to reprogram it, it came up with a checksum error, and at one point the truck wouldn't even start, yikes!
I updated the Edge unit online, plugged it back into the truck and the first thing it did was reset it to stock. After that any programming when fine.
You've probably found a solution by now but I thought I'd throw my 2c in.
