what do you suggest? edge?

i am new to the 5.4L pickups, but i have been doing some searching on the tuners/programmers and was wanting some advice....I have a 2003 screw fx4 with 5.4L and I am looking for some kind of "programmer" so that I can change setting at my needs.....most of the time I am driving, I will want an economic setting for increased mileage, but occassionaly I need some extra hp/torque for pulling heavy trailers....i am leaning towards the "edge" from what info i have found..
some ?'s
1. where is the best deals found
2. how easily can i change settings
3. is the install and setup easy

like i said, i have searched, but i really need some direct feedback before i shell out the cash! thanks in advance! randy

dont get the edge. you will want custom tunes. im assuming you like the edge since you want a screen. i recommend the gryphon from Power hungry performance. Bill is a great guy to work with he actually helped with the design of the edge. he sells the gryhpon (recased edge used for custom tunes) its 460 i think right now.

The Edge comes with canned tunes. It is a good unit and I was totally satisfied with it for over 30,000 miles. Then I got Bill's cutom tunes. A lot of difference, especially in the downshifting, plus just a little more power. I got an 87 Performance tune and a 93 Performance tune.

Also, If you decide to add a CAI, the Edge is recommeded for only the stock intake and you should get custom tunes.

I forgot to answer your questions. Yes, the Edge nd the Gryphon allow you to change settings very easily and the install is very easy, about 10 minutes.

basically everything bluejay said is right. and custom tunes will be better for your truck. they are set up for YOUR truck not for every 04-08 f150. and you can have your custom tunes include your intake, exhaust, and other mods to make the most possible power. the only next thing better is dyno tuning.
