Custom Edge Under-Dash Mount
Custom Edge Under-Dash Mount
I am not a big fan of the pod that comes with the edge, so I decided to fabricate a custom under-dash mount.
It took all of 20 minutes because of the two screws that hold the lower dash panel on.
I started with one of these universal brackets

There are two screws that hold on the lower panel, one on each side at the bottom. The screws have a hex head and are 7mm. I chose the left side so it doesn't interfere with the gas pedal. All I did was take the screw out and put my bracket between the two pieces, then screwed it back together.
The edge is held on by heavy duty velcro and is very solid.

I have a pretty good view of the gauges through the steering wheel holes when going straight...good enough for me considering the mounting location.

I've also got plenty of room to work the parking brake, and hood and brake releases. Overall I am very happy with the mount and Edge!
Enjoy!

Yes I can, and with the velcro, its adjustable. The shot through the steering wheel above is what I see.
Good work! As an added bonus, it's not obvious to someone who would like to relieve you of it as they walk by your truck in a parking lot.

I am with you on this.

And it's "stealthy" too.
I give points for originality!
But, I prefer the dash mount myself also. I'm just an old dog who doesn't want to learn new tricks.

I actually thought about that, and looked at it, but it would have required some cutting to make it work right, and I didn't want to mess with it.
It doesn't hit my leg where it is...it might on some, but not me.

Nice job on the new edge mounting location! I too am scared having mine on the dash where thieves can easily see it so I just remove mine from the pod anytime that i'm not around my truck!
Good idea with it being out of site but being in such close proximity of your legs and feet, getting in and out I see a potential disaster in the making. You can actually see through the steering wheel the gauges, at a glance? Seems a little dangerous too me. Just my .02
