If you are thinking about getting an edge why not get a gryphon? Same programmer but you can get custom tunes to your truck.

You need to read the threads in the Chips and Programmers forum and make up your own mind. It basically boils down to if you want the monitor that sits in the pod and montors up to 4 functions at once. If so, you want the Gryphon from Power Hungry Performance. If you have no interest in the gauges, then get the Xcal3 from VMP.

from what i have read,
edge + CAI = bad news

also, with your mods, you need some custom tunes

Your post should be VMP or Gryphon

Like Bluejay Says, the biggest difference between Edge and VMP is the gauges. if you want the dash gauges, Gryphon will be the winner.

(borrowed the image from PHP because mine wont be here until wednesday )

VMP by far.

The difference is huge between custom and canned tunes.

Yes, there is a huge difference, that is why it has been recommended to forget the Edge and go Gryphon, if you want the gauges. The Gryphon has excellent custom tunes. So, again, decide if you want the monitor. If so, Gryphon, if not, then VMP.
